Mutilated body of youth found near railway tracks in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A mutilated body of a youth was found near railway tracks in Khairapalli area under Dhanupalli Police Limits of Sambalpur district on Friday morning.

The youth identified as Rustom Khan alias Janu of Gobinda Talla area in the district was working in Electricity department. According to reports, Khan had gone to a nearby village for some work but did not return. Locals spotted his body with several injuries and informed the police.

Dhanupalli Police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. A scientific team was also called for a detailed investigation.

“He had gone for some electrical work to a nearby village with some labourers, but he was found dead near the tracks. Preliminary investigation reveals that the youth has been murdered. Further investigation is on,” informed Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Sambalpur, Bhabanishankar Udgata.
