Music studios in Odisha busy ahead of elections
Bhubaneswar: With the general elections just around the corner, it’s not just the politicians who are facing pressure of the electoral race, but musicians and singers are also busy churning out music for several political parties.
As the parties have announced most of their candidates, campaigning has also gathered pace. While contestants are reaching out to people with door-to-door campaigns, political parties are leaving no stone unturned. Amid the poll fever, musicians and singers are busy preparing campaign songs and tracks for the political parties who want to woo voters in as many ways as possible. Not only Bollywood songs, but trending Sambalpuri tracks and Odia albums are being remixed to attract voters.
“It is a big challenge because you have to consider various aspects before composing a song to incorporate the ideology of a political party, their manifesto and success story,” said music producers.
“Lending voice to these election songs is a unique experience. While we can easily sing normal albums, it is quite difficult in case of election campaign-based songs because you have to be careful and prominent in pronunciation,” said noted Odia music album singer, Monali.
Music producer Dilip Jena said, “We have a big responsibility to reach out to the people with the messages of the contestants.”
