Bhubaneswar: The MSME International Trade Fair will begin at the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar from January 8 and continue till January 12.

The 4-day consumer-oriented fair will highlight handicrafts, home decor and handloom products from India and abroad, informed Hemant Sharma, Secretary of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department.

Apart from 280 stalls that will display MSME products, 32 stalls will be dedicated to technology while 28 stalls will be for different departments of the state government. According to sources, while there are 80,000 MSME units across Odisha, 60,000 units have been set up in the past 20 years. Employment opportunities have been created for around 35 persons on an average by every unit.

The process for setting up MSME parks in Hinjili and Kesinga has already begun. An area of 128 acre land has been acquired for Kesinga Park and 80 acre land has been allotted for Hinjili, informed Odisha MSME Minister Dibya Sankar Mishra.

"We will encourage people to come and attend the fair. There will be 10 Iranian companies and 10 Bangladeshi companies who will be a part of the fair," said Mishra.
