Mother gives second life to son
Bolangir: It is only a mother who alone can fight against the whole world for her children. Proving the adage true, a woman jumped into a 30-ft well to rescue her son at Talapalipada area in Bolangir.
The incident has now become the talk of the town while praises are also pouring in for the woman who risked her life to give second life to her son.
According to reports, Champeswari Podha had her heart in mouth after her 3-year-old son Satish fell into a well while playing cricket at around 5:15 pm on Thursday. Champeswari was looking after her younger daughter when others in the house raised an alarm after hearing a noise.
“I was inside the room when everybody informed that my son had fallen into the well. Without thinking much, I jumped into the well to rescue my son,” said Champeswari.
Local residents informed that the woman had clinged to a railing holding her son in arms when she was rescued by a team of fire services department.
“We had got an emergency call at 5:50 pm and immediately we rushed to the spot and found both the woman and her son in the well. We then rescued them both,” said Fire Officer, Shyam Sundar Singh.
