Puri: New revelations were unearthed by fresh investigations, after Police took former Emar mutt mahant Rajgopal Ramanuj Das for three-day remand two days back.

The new findings include three empty wooden treasury boxes, one iron chest and one wooden almirah.

Three silver coins dated back to 1884 were found in these wooden treasury boxes, as the year was engraved in the coins. The investigative team also seized one weighing machine and documents showing fixed deposits of  Rs 9 lakh.

Meanwhile, there are complaints against the investigating team for bypassing newly-appointed five-member committee which is looking into the Emar mutt case.

Sukharam Das, Mahant of Hati Aakheda Mutt expressed his doubts when he said, “The new team has not informed anything about the fresh investigations they are conducting now.”

According to the department officials, the investigations have been carried out literally in closed doors and the investigating teams have not even put a word to Endowments department in charge of the mutt.

Doubting the conduct of the investigating teams, there has been demands for a CBI enquiry of the case.
