Cuttack:  Monkey menace at famous Shiva shrine at Dhabaleswar in Cuttack district has now put the temple authorities in fix. According to sources, four devotees have been injured after being attacked by a group of monkeys near the Jhula (hanging bridge).

This has now led to panic not only among devotees but also priests at the temple. As a precaution, the priests and other officials are seen chasing the monkeys with the help of sticks.

Parsuram  Behera, a priest of the temple  said  "The monkey group has instilled a sense of terror among the pilgrims. The forest department should take immediate steps to keep the monkeys away from the temple."

"With the increase in incidents of monkey attack, it has now become essential to take necessary measures to provide security to the devotees coming to the temple," said a devotee.
