Bhubaneswar: The man, who was caught on CCTV molesting a minor girl on a street in Bhubaneswar last week, was sent to jail on a 14-day judicial custody by the Special POCSO court today.

As per reports, Commissionerate Police carried spot identification during when the accused informed the police on how he executed the crime.

Police Commissioner, Sudhansu Sarangi said, "We will finish the investigation after gathering all the evidences against the accused. We are trying to gather as much evidence as possible so that he can be convicted. "

"I can't believe that he can commit such a crime. God will decide whether he will be punished or not," said the father of the accused.

It was alleged that as the accused was having political links, no promptness was initially shown by the police officials in investigating the crime.

As per reports, on August 21, the accused molested a girl who was on her way to attend tuition on a bicycle. The accused riding a two-wheeler intercepted the girl and molested her at an isolated area under Laxmisagar Police limits. He fled the spot after the girl raised an alarm.
