Bhubaneswar: A day after the grand swearing-in ceremony of PM Narendra Modi and his cabinet, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today alleged that Western Odisha has been neglected in Modi Sarkar 2.0
Despite BJP winning all the 5 Lok Sabha seats in Western Odisha, not a single person was inducted in the Modi's new cabinet as minister, alleged State Minister for Rural Development and Labour Welfare, Sushant Singh.
“We welcome the induction of two BJP leaders from Odisha in the Modi cabinet. The people of Western Odisha have voted Naveen Patnaik for the assembly and Narendra Modi, BJP for Parliament. Still, no leader from Western Odisha was inducted in Modi cabinet,” said Singh.
On the contrary, six BJD MLAs from Western Odisha were inducted in CM Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet, he claimed.
Responding to Sushant Singh’s taunts, Odisha BJP in-charge Arun Singh stated that, “It is PM’s prerogative and I thank the PM for making Pratap Sarangi, a coastal leader in Odisha, as Minister of State. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is from Western Odisha,” claimed Singh.
