MLA Naba Das clears air over switching party; to fight elections on Congress ticket
Jharsuguda: Putting rest to all the recent speculations over party switching, Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das today clarified that he will contest the upcoming elections on a Congress ticket.
Das stated, “As I am currently a Congress MLA, I will fight the upcoming elections with a ticket of the same party. There is no doubt about it.”
Let speculations over switching party remain a speculation only, is what the Jharsuguda MLA said during his clarification.
This is the second time that Das has clarified his stance over such assumptions. He had made it clear on December 15 last year, that he was inspired by the principles and ideologies of the Congress and has no plans to quit the party.
Speculations over Das quitting the party started making rounds following his speech at a public meeting at Laikera in Jharsuguda in December last year. In the meeting, Das had claimed that he might join another party for the overall development of the region.
“I might join any party but the demand for making Laikera a sub-division will be surely fulfilled. As you have elected me as your representative, I will take a decision about joining a political party that will provide most suitable platform for Laikera’s development,” he had said.
