Bhubaneswar: The qualification of suspended BJP leader and Bonai MLA Bhimsen Choudhury will become matriculate henceforth in Odisha Assembly record as he cleared the HSC examination in first division by scoring 360 marks on Tuesday.
 
The legislator had appeared the exam this year at Raja Dharanidhar High School in Bonai. Born in 1962, Choudhury represents Bonai assembly seat reserved for tribal candidates in Sundergarh district.

He had attended the examination as an ex-regular candidate, an official of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had said. The legislator did not attend the Assembly session for a few days during his examination, sources said.
 

This year the BSE has recorded a total pass percentage of 73.11 while 75.99 per cent regular students cleared the test. Balasore district has scored maximum regular pass percentage of 86.97 while Nuapada recorded the lowest regular pass percentage of 51.3. The ex-regular pass percentage is 48.81.
 

A total of 1,05,148 students have passed in first division while 1,27,209 students cleared the test in second division. Similarly 1,53,202 asiprants have passed in third division. The number of unsuccessful candidates stands at 1,21,863.
