Cuttack: A couple and their 10-year-old son were injured when a ride at the Baliyatra fair severed from the main plank.
The incident took place yesterday and Cuttack collector Girish S N today ordered an inquiry into the mishap.

The injured were rushed to to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Official sources said a team comprising a mechanical engineer, fire brigade personnel, a revenue and police officer on Wednesday visited the spot to ascertain the cause of the mishap.

In 2009 a steel staircase of a car and motorcycle stunt show had given way due to heavy rush injuring at least seven persons. Since then stunt shows are banned in the annual festival.
