Berhampur: A 29-year-old youth was killed and his mother injured in an attack by unidentified miscreants at Nirmalajhara in Ganjam district last night, police sources said. Two of the miscreants who came on motorcycles knocked on door of Rakesh Padhy`s home and attacked him with rods and bombs when he opened it, the sources said.
"We suspect that a love affair might be the cause of the attack as it took place just before his marriage," Chhatrapur Sub Divisional Police Officer Shantanu Padhy said. Rakesh Padhy`s marriage was fixed on February 15. His mother was also injured in the attack. "We have identified one of the attackers and will arrest him soon," the SDPO said.
