Miscreants break open Axis bank ATM, flee with cash

Kendrapara: Unidentified miscreants looted an Axis Bank automated teller machine (ATM) at Juna Chhak under Marshaghai police limits in the district after breaking it open late on Wednesday night.

The matter came into light this morning after locals passing by the ATM spotted the broken kiosk and the damaged machine. Subsequently the locals informed the police about the incident.

As per reports, the miscreants allegedly broke the shutter and entered the ATM counter to loot cash.

After being informed, officials of Town Police Station rushed to the spot and sealed the ATM. However, the exact amount of cash looted is yet to be ascertained.

Sources said police examined the CCTV cameras installed in and around the ATM and further investigation is on.
