Miscreants break open ATM, flee with cash
Khurda: After a respite of few days, unidentified miscreants looted cash again from a TATA Indicash Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at Bajpur under Sadar police limits in the district late last night.
As per reports, the miscreants broke open the ATM and allegedly looted cash from the machine. Besides, CCTV cameras installed inside the ATM counter have been damaged.
The matter came to light this morning after a few locals reported the incident at the Sadar police station.
Meanwhile, on getting information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. The exact of amount of cash looted has not been ascertained yet, sources said.
Incidents of bank ATM robberies were reported from various places including Nirakarpur, Tulasipur, Jatni and Baghamari in the district in the recent past.
Earlier this month, miscreants uprooted a TATA Indicash Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and decamped with cash around Rs 2 lakh in Tulasipur area in the district.
