Bhubaneswar: Not even a week after the alleged gang-rape of a 19-year-old dancer, another similar shocking incident surfaced in the state capital on Sunday night when a minor girl was allegedly molested by three youths in a moving auto rickshaw before being thrown out of the vehicle.

According to police, a 17-year old girl belonging to Patakura area of Kendrapara district hired an auto-rickshaw at Baramunda bus stand for Master Canteen late last night.

"After I boarded the auto, three youths entered into the vehicle near the over bridge and behaved in an indecent manner. When I resisted they offered me Rs 500 to agree upon them," the victim said.

"Feeling insecure inside the moving vehicle when I tried to scream repeatedly, they pushed me out of the vehicle near Delta Square," she added in a thin voice.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and admitted the victim to Capital hospital before taking her to Mahila police station. She is now under treatment in a private hospital.

The brutal incident has sent shock waves amongst residents across the state. Earlier a couple of days back, two cases of gang-rape were reported in the state involving a 19-year-old girl from the state capital and a 24-year-old woman from Keonjhar.

According to police, five persons allegedly gang-raped the 19-year-old part-time melody dancer in Bhubaneswar by luring her to perform in an event  while another woman was reportedly gang-raped by three youths in Keonjhar district.

While the nationwide outrage due to the spine chilling incident of the New Delhi paramedic student's gang rape on last Sunday is yet to calm down, the Sunday night incident has raised a grave question mark on the safety of women in the city.
