Friday marked the third day of the historic CuttackBali Yatra in Odisha, which continues to draw thousands of visitors each day. This year’s edition has introduced several new attractions compared to previous years, offering visitors fresh experiences alongside the fair’s traditional highlights.
Among the new attractions, a major draw has been the presence of two mermaids from Indonesia. The performers are swimming inside a 20-foot aquarium, providing a rare and visually engaging spectacle for the visitors. The display has become one of the main highlights of the event, attracting both children and adults eager to witness something different from the usual exhibits, reportedly.
Visitors Appreciate Novelty And Affordability
Crowds have been gathering in large numbers near the aquarium, expressing curiosity and excitement over the unique display. One of the visitors said, “This is good as it is unique. Every year, we almost see the same thing like the rides and Dahibara Aloodum stalls. But this is something different, and with the ticket being priced at Rs 100, it is very affordable too. It is a good attraction for children as well.”
Positive Response To New Additions
The inclusion of international performers and interactive attractions appears to have added new energy to this year’s Bali Yatra.

With the fair continuing through the week, organisers expect a steady increase in footfall, especially around the newly introduced sections such as the mermaid aquarium, which has already become one of the most talked-about features of the event.
