Cuttack: Results of the High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations were announced on Tuesday at the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) office in Cuttack. Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda and Board president Dakhya Prasad Nanda unveiled the booklets in presence of other officials.
 
This year the BSE has recorded a total pass percentage of 73.11 while 75.99 per cent regular students cleared the test. Balasore district has scored maximum regular pass percentage of 86.97 while Nuapada recorded the lowest regular pass percentage of 51.3. The ex-regular pass percentage is 48.81.
 
“It is a record in BSE’s history that regular pass percentage is 75.99 this year. I congratulate all successful students and wish them a bright carrier”, the minister said. “We are hopeful to conduct the supplementary examinations in May”, he added.
 
A total of 1,05,148 students have passed in first division while 1,27,209 students cleared the test in second division. Similarly 1,53,202 asiprants have passed in third division. The number of unsuccessful candidates stands at 1,21,863.
 
Similarly, 5,020 were caught in malpractice while results of 739 students remained withheld.

Around 6 lakh students had appeared the exam this year which was conducted from February 25 to March 9. As per the previous announcement, the BSE has not published the much-awaited top 100 list this year.
