Bhubaneswar: After facing criticism over poor matriculation results, the School and Mass Education department has now swung into action. The concerned minister, Samir Ranjan Dash today informed that it is certainly a matter of concern that 82 schools recorded zero results in the matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

“We have served notices to the 82 schools which recorded zero pass percentage. I will also personally visit these schools to conduct a detailed review of the infrastructure as well the problems plaguing such institutions,” said Dash.

As per official sources, 36 schools were in the "zero performance" list in 2018, while 22 schools recorded zero results in 2017.

A total of 5, 61, 079 students had appeared the annual HSC examination this year out of which 3, 97,125 students cleared the examination.
