Rourkela:  Suspected Maoists shot at and injured a truck driver and set ablaze the rice-loaded vehicle near Saranda forest of Sundargarh district bordering Jharkhand, police said today.

A group of armed ultras, suspected to be members of the Jharkhand Liberation Tiger, attacked the truck and opened fire in Sorada area under Bisra police limits, about 40 km from here late Saturday night, injuring its driver.

The attackers fled the scene after setting the truck ablaze, while trick driver Mohd Bablu was admitted to Ispat General Hospital with bullet injuries, police said.

Security forces were rushed to the area and efforts are on to trace the attackers.
