Maoists kill naib sarpanch in Malkangiri

The body of the deceased naib sarpanch has been found near a water tank in Mahupadara village on Saturday morning, said Malkangiri SP Akhilesh Singh.

The Maoists may have killed the naib sarpanch suspecting him to be police informer, added SP.

On Thursday night, the red rebels kidnapped three natives of Mahupadara village. However, two of them returned home safely while the deceased sarpanch was missing since then.

Earlier on April 24, the ultras had killed two persons and released another after abducting them from Kyang village under Mathili police station here. They murdered suspecting them to be the police informers and blew up a telephone tower there.
