About 70 rebels came to the construction site and took the contractor Mohammed Ittar (35) and his associate Narendra Mohanty into a near-by forest and shot Ittar to dead, Kabita Jalan Superintendent of police said.

The Maoists released Mohanty. SDPO Padampur Nruparaj Dandasena said the exact cause of the killing was yet to be ascertained.
