Maoists kidnap eight villagers in Malkangiri

Malkanagiri: Suspected Maoists allegedly kidnapped eight persons from Mahupad village under Mathili police limits in the district last night.

According to reports, around 40 to 50 armed Maoists knocked doors of these persons lat in the night and when they came out, the extremists abducted them.

Following this incident, panic gripped the entire village.

It may be noted that, a group of Maoists had kidnapped 11 villagers from nearby Kartanpali village few days ago.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a search operation to trace the abducted villagers.
