Malkangiri: A family of Dabuguda village of the district has had to undergo painful experience of leaving their own land, property and other near and dear ones in fear of Maoists.

As per reports, a hardcore Maoist commander Rakesh was killed in an encounter with security forces in Dabuguda a few weeks ago following which Maoists allegedly set up a kangaroo court and blamed the family of acting as police informer.

Later, the ultras not only beat up the family members but also ransacked their house. The Maoists also reportedly barred the family members from reaping their own crops in the farmland.

Unable to bear the trauma and repeated life threats from the Maoists, all 13 members of the family finally left the village recently to settle at Kuduguluguma area.

The family has lodged a complaint regarding the incident with Mudulipada police and urged the Superintendent Of Police to provide them security.

“The Maoists beat our family members and forced us to leave our village. We have been taking shelter at our relatives since then, said Subash Sisa, a member of the family.
