Narayanpatna/Jeypore: The left wing extremist CPI (Maoist) has raised a few demands for the safe release of the abducted Laxmipur BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka. The ultras left behind large number of posters near Toyaput on Koraput-Laxmipur road from where the MLA was kidnapped to highlight the demands.

The Maoists have demanded that the government must stop `Operation Green Hunt` against the ultras and immediately release political prisoners. The demands included stoppage of police atrocities against innocent tribals. The Maoists have appealed for the success of the shutdown call given by the Koraput-Srikakulam Divisional Committee.

Top Maoist leader and mastermind of the abduction of the two Italian tourists, Sabyasachi Panda alias Sunil too had earlier raised 13 demands before the government for the release of the two hostages. The Organising Committee of the state unit of the CPI (Maoist) too had demanded to stop `Operation Green Hunt` and police excesses against the innocent tribals.
