Maoist Camp Busted After Exchange Of Fire In Bolangir

Bolangir: Security forces on Saturday busted a Maoist camp during a combing operation inside Gandhamardhan reserve forest under Khaprakhol police limits in Bolangir district.

Acting on a tip-off on the Left Wing Extremist activity in the cut-off area, District Voluntary Force (DVF) and SOG jawans launched a combing operation to trace the Maoist camp.

An exchange of fire occurred when the rebels initiated the attack sensing presence of the security personnel in the area and the security personnel also retaliated, however there was no report of any casualty from either side in the gunfight.

During the exchange of fire, the rebels managed to escape while the security personnel seized huge cache of explosives, weapons and literature used by the ultras in the training camp, SP Sandeep Sampad said.
