A young man was trampled to death by an elephant while attempting to catch a glimpse of the wild animal in Mayurbhanj’s Karanjia forest area. The unfortunate event took place in tribal-dominated Narasandh Joba village, drawing attention to the dangers faced by people venturing into wildlife zones.
According to reports, the youth had joined a group of locals who had come to see a herd of elephants that had wandered from the Jharkhand region into the Ghagarbeda area.
Late last night, around 30 elephants were spotted moving through the region, attracting curious onlookers eager to witness the majestic creatures. While most visitors maintained a safe distance, the young man reportedly got too close to one of the elephants, which led to the fatal attack.
Despite efforts to intervene, he succumbed to injuries sustained from being trampled by the large mammal.

The incident has been captured on video, showing the elephant’s movements through the area, and the footage has since gone viral on social media platforms. This tragic occurrence has sparked discussions about the risks of human-wildlife interactions and the need for stricter safety measures around forested areas frequented by elephants.
Authorities have urged locals and visitors to exercise extreme caution when observing wildlife and to follow guidelines to prevent similar accidents in the future.
