Man shot at in freak incident

Kendrapara: In a freak incident, a person was shot at in Chandol, about 20 km from here, police said today.

The injured identified as Ananta Palei, an employee of a private sponge iron company at Angul, was passing through the area yesterday when a criminal fired at another person which inadvertently hit him, the police said.

He was undergoing treatment at the district headquarter hospital here, the sources said. The criminal fled the scene after the incident and a manhunt launched in the area to nab him.
