Malkangiri: A grocer was arrested for Maoist-related activities from Malkangiri district and a landmine was seized from his possession, police sources said on Saturday.

The man, identified as S J Kiran, a part-time contributor for a local vernacular news organisation, Kiran worked as a Maoist courier, the sources said. Kiran was arrested yesterday from Onkadeli on the Malkangiri-Koraput on a tipoff, Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Akhileshwar Singh said.

A landmine weighing 2.5 kg, some wire and a laptop were recovered from his house.
