Kendrapara: A 28-year-old man from Jagatsinghpur district has made it to the Limca Book of Records for doing "DTP composition in most languages".

"Sandip Patra holds the distinction of having done DTP composition in most languages. He has composed and designed periodicals in over 60 languages as of June 30, 2011," the certificate of Limca Book of Records, 2012 said.

A resident of Panisalia village, Patra does the DTP work or writing on the computer for a children`s magazine named "Suna Bhauni" which is published in 75 languages.

A clerk of state government-run regulated marketing cooperatives in Jagatsighpur, Patra said, "I dedicate my success to my parents. Bijoy Mahapatra, the founder and editor of `Suna Bhauni` was a source of inspiration for me who coaxed me to multi-language DTP operation."

He has composed the multi-lingual children`s magazine in Odia, Hindi, English, Bengali, Gujarati, Telegu, Sanskrit, Kannada, Urdu, Tamil, Sindhi, Punjabi, Marathi, Santhali, Malayalam, Nepali, Manipuri, Konkani, Koshali, Dogri, Kui, Bhojapuri, Kashmiri, Dam, Maithili, Assamese and other Indian languages.

"I am not a polyglot nor linguist. The vernacular language software in my computer helps me to write in so many languages. My achievement is that I do the DTP work in so many languages. The task is difficult and arduous," he said.

DPT composition of texts in Odia, Bengali and Assamese has been more difficult that the rest of the Indian languages, he said.
