Man injured in tusker attack in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A man sustained critical injuries after being attacked by a tusker at Kandarsingha village under Mahabirod forest range of Dhenkanal district today.

According to sources, the jumbo strayed into the human settlement and reportedly attacked one Jugi Nayak.

Locals, after discovering him in a critically injured state, immediately rushed him to the Parjang health centre. Later, he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) where he is currently undergoing treatment, added sources.

Mahabirod forest ranger officer, Haramohan Nayak met Nayak to take stock of his health condition, informed sources. A compensation of Rs 5,000 has been given to Nayak by the Forest department for treatment, added sources.
