Bhubaneswar/Nayagarh: A man died allegedly after being thrashed by his in-laws in Badabhuin village under Fatehgarh Police limits of Nayagarh.

As per reports, Ganesh Dash, working at a chemist shop in Laxmi Sagar area of the capital city was living with his wife and a 5-year-old daughter in Bhubaneswar. But after a dispute, his wife had left Bhubaneswar with their daughter to live with her parents at Badabhuin.

Reportedly, when Ganesh went to Badabhuin to bring back his wife and daughter, his father-in-law and other family members allegedly thrashed him following which he ran away from spot leaving his motorbike behind.

Later, Ganesh was called by his in-laws on Saturday to take back his bike. However, when an unsuspecting Ganesh reached there, the family members of his wife allegedly thrashed him again.

Subsequently, he was brought to Bhapur Community Health Centre (CHC), but the doctor declared him brought dead.
Later, Gunanidhi Das, Ganesh’s father lodged a complaint at the Fatehgarh Police station alleging murder by his in-laws. On the other hand, Ganesh's mother-in-law Nirupama Das had a completely different story to tell.

“Ganesh was an alcoholic. He came home in an inebriated condition that day and started an altercation with my daughter and me. He suddenly fell ill and died on the way to hospital.”

Following the complaint, police have launched a probe into the matter. No comments can be obtained from the police in this regard.
