Man arrested for poaching migratory birds in Balasore

Balasore: Forest officials arrested a person on charges of poaching migratory birds near Khumkut dam inside Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary here on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Pahali Muduli.

Acting on a tip off, a team of forest officials raided the place and arrested Muduli while he was reportedly trying to hunt the birds near the dam.

The officials have also seized poaching weapons his possession.

Since the dam is situated in the middle of the forest, migratory birds throng the place in search of food. Frequent cases of poaching of migratory birds have been reported from here while further investigation in connection with the arrest of the poacher is on, said a senior official.
