Malkangiri: A woman Maoist, allegedly involved in the abduction of former Malkangiri district collector R Vineel Krishna in February last year, was arrested on Sunday, police said.

Divya alias Wallasi (26) was nabbed during a joint operation by BSF and district police near Janbai here.

She was working as an `area commander` of the Maoist group for the past 11 years under Galikonda Naxal division, police said.

Divya was also allegedly involved in the killing of 36 police personnel on a motorised vessel in the Balimela reservoir, police said.
