Malkangiri: Protesting negligence by higher-ups and lack of government facilities, Malkangiri Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ajodhyakant Satpathy has gone on leave.

According to sources, Satpathy has alleged that he has not been provided residence, official vehicle and other governmental facilities ever since he joined as the ADM of Malkangiri.

“Though I have already apprised the Collector about my problems, there has been no response from his side till yet. Working in the Maoist-affected area is a bit problematic and therefore, I had informed my higher-ups about the issue. I expect the State government to take necessary steps so that officers feel safe to work here,” the ADM said.

Earlier on September 8 this year, the ADM was seen walking 1.5 km to reach office from his official residence due to non-availability of a government vehicle.

Sources said the rift between the district collector and the ADM surfaced after eight BDOs were relieved of duties on September 6.
