Bhubaneswar: Pipili legislatorPradeep Maharathy on Monday demanded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s statement on the alleged nexus between expelled MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra and Maoists.

“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik must tell the House about the alleged link between Pyarimohan Mohapatra and the Maoists,” Maharathy said.

A similar voice was also echoed by KV Singhdeo and leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh who too demanded the BJD supremo’s statement and speaker’s ruling in this regard. Both the leaders raised the FIR issue against Pyarimohan which the latter had told the media in a meeting yesterday.

On Sunday, the Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) chairman had said a conspiracy was being hatched to arrest him for alleged Maoist links and warned the Chief Minister against such ‘misadventure’.

Pyarimohan alleged that the FIR lodged by one Dipti Mohanty on Saturday against him was part of the conspiracy.
