Bhubaneswar: A low pressure is likely to form over the south-east Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas by December 10, predicted officials of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar today.

However, there will hardly be any effect on the State, added the officials informing that the farmers’ community need not worry about it. The Met further forecast there will be no rain in the next five days.

As per reports, the low pressure area formed some 2,000 kms away from Gopalpur might subsequently turn into a cyclone.

“In the next 24 hours, the climatic condition formed over the Bay of Bengal will turn into a low pressure. It may not influence much as weather will be mostly dry in the State. However, there is forecast of light to moderate rainfall in north coastal and coastal Odisha,” informed Gaurang Charan Behera, duty officer of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.
