Bhubaneswar: NRI Neeraj Chandan, who was allegedly robbed of cash and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees after he arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar a few days ago, has sought intervention of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the matter.

In a tweet, Neeraj today sought intervention of the Union Minister and CM in tracing his passports, USD 3,000 and other valuables which were robbed at the exit gate of the airport. Neeraj also mentioned that he had come to visit Puri Jagannath Temple with his family for the first time when the incident took place.

The NRI also tweeted to the Odisha DGP requesting him to file a complaint and cooperate in finding his stolen items. He also sought the DGP’s help for travelling back to his resident country Ghana.

On Saturday, Neeraj and his family were robbed of 3000 USD, expensive mobile phones, several documents including a non-citizen card and nine passports.

Earlier, DGP RP Sharma had informed that the DCP and Air Field Police have been directed to carry out a detailed investigation into the incident.

Moreover, Bhubaneswar airport director, Suresh Kumar Hota has assured cooperation in the investigation.
