Locals block Paradip oil terminal road
Paradip: Vehicular traffic on the road leading to Paradip oil terminal was affected today as residents of Bauria Palanda staged a road blockade demanding compensation for losses incurred due to incessant rain.
According to sources, trucks and tankers going towards depots of different oil companies in Paradip could not reach their destination on account of the road blockade by locals. Besides, hundreds of other vehicles including buses have been stranded on both sides of the road.
As the administration has not taken any steps to drain water from the waterlogged areas of Bauria Palanda, the locals staged the blockade in protest.
“We want an immediate solution to the waterlogging problems in our area. Till the time the administration doesn’t take any concrete steps, we will sit on dharna on the road,” said an agitator.
