Bhubaneswar: A day after a group of his party leaders left for Delhi to meet party high command, apparently to demand change in leadership in the unit, State Congress president Jayadev Jena said today that lobbying or groupism hardly brings the change.

However, he pleaded ignorance about the delegation's Delhi tour.

"Lobbying or factionalism does not work in bringing about the change in leadership within the party unit. However, I don't know why some legislators and leaders have gone to Delhi," Jena said.

Similarly, commenting on the get-together at former CM and senior Congress leader Hemanand Biswal's place, Jena opined, "It would have been better if the discussion would have held in party forum."

Notably, Biswal had thrown a party for a select group of party's State leaders just before JB Patnaik's return to Odisha after completing his gubernatorial term in Assam. Obviously, the issue of leadership change surfaced in the meeting.
