Bhubaneswar: Six persons, including a woman,died after they were struck by lightning in three different places in the state on Tuesday.
 
With this, the total number of people killed in Odisha during past 24 hours due to lightning has mounted to 19. 13 persons had died yesterday in four districts of the state.
 
Samir Nayak (22) of Nuagada village in Puri district died while fishing in river, officials said.
 
Similarly, a 62-year-old woman, identified as Sundari Jena of Jhunkapada village in Ganjam district, died after being struck by lightning.
 
Four others, including two minor boys, died at Baulapal village of Jajpur district, said Block Development Officer, Sandip Goud. The deceased were identified as Asish Nayak (40), Pradip Nayak (38), Babu Nayak (14) and S Pradhan (13). One Tapan Nayak of the same village in Jajpur district sustained injuries in lightning, an official at the Special Relief Commissioner's office said.
