Sambalpur: Reiterating their demand for the establishment of a permanent bench of Orissa High Court, the lawyers in western Odisha have decided to continue cease work agitation. Such decision was taken during a meeting of Western Odisha Central Action Committee (CAC) held yesterday.

As per the decisions taken at the meeting, the lawyers have decided to hold rallies across western Odisha to press for the demand of High Court bench.

Rallies will be carried out across western Odisha from the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23 till February 28.  The agitating lawyers have come up with a slogan ‘Ebe nuhe ta kebe nuhe’ to intensify their movement.

The lawyers are also demanding special allocation for the High Court bench in western Odisha in upcoming budget session of Odisha Assembly.

It is pertinent to mention here that court proceedings remain completely paralysed due to cease work strike of western Odisha lawyers association which has been continuing since September 2018.
