Nayagarh: A video of a clash between a lawyer and a journalist on Khandapada Court premises in Nayagarh district has now gone viral on social media. Surprisingly, as the incident occurred in presence of a police van, it has now become the talk of the town.

As per reports, the concerned lawyer had allegedly pulled up the driver of the police van for not wearing seat belt and insisted on seeing his driving licence and other documents.

On getting information, the journalist reportedly went to the spot and started recording the incident on his camera. On seeing the incident being recorded, the lawyer reportedly got agitated and entered into a scuffle with the journalist. The duo also exchanged blows while the cops and others remained mute spectators.

“We saw a home guard was driving the van and we asked for his driving licence and other documents. The concerned home guard tried to escape and subsequently a lot of crowd gathered on the spot. In the meantime, a journalist reached the spot and attacked me,” said Sangram Keshari Mishra, the concerned lawyer.

Though the journalist could not be contacted, senior police officials informed that separate cases have been registered based on the written complaints from the journalist and the lawyer.

“We have registered two cases and further investigation in connection with the incident is on,” Inspector-In-Charge of Khandapada Police Station, Bimal Malick said.
