Rourkela: The district police had to resort to mild-charge to maintain law and order during a recruitment mela today jointly organised by the district administration and the Niyukti Mission. Over 50,000 unemployed youths including hundreds from outside the state took part in the mega which led to utter chaos. Some irate candidates started breaking chairs and tables spread on the recruitment venue. However, normalcy returned after the district police dispersed some unruly candidates and the recruitment process went on smoothly after a halt of few minutes.
