Malkangiri: A powerful landmine and three country-made guns hidden by Maoists were recovered during combing operation by security forces in Malkangiri district today, police said.
The landmine was recovered during a joint combing by BSF jawans and police personnel besides a road at Saniguda in Balimela-Chitrakonda ghati, about 50 km from here, they said. The recovery was made at a place close to the spot where four BSF officers and personnel had been killed in a landmine blast recently.
In another combing operation by the BSF jawans and district police personnel, three country-made guns were recovered in Takepadar jungle of Sarugbadha under Chitrakonda police station.
No one has been arrested so far in connection with the seizures, police said. Combing operation and patrolling by security forces had been intensified in the Maoist-infested area following the recoveries.
