Jajpur: As outcry over alleged lapses in probe into the death of Haridaspur PEO, Smitarani Biswal, continue to grow, the victim's father, Sadananda Biswal, on Friday said that he will move outside the State alleging threat to his life. While expressing dissatisfaction over the probe into his daughter's death, Biswal said that those who have killed his daughter might also attack and kill him.
"I don't feel safety to be here. I don't get justice from anyone including the police nor the politicians. Therefore, I have decided to go to either Delhi or Mumbai where my sons live," said Sadananda.
On the other hand, claiming that he has no faith in Odisha Police, Smitarani's husband, Sushil also demanded CBI investigation in the case. He also alleged that his family and he were deeply hurt by the manner in which the SP had assassinated Smitarani's character.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Pradipta Naik, alleged direct involvement of a BJD leader in the whole incident. Due to the involvement of BJD leader, police are being pressurised which is affecting the investigation, alleged Naik who was at Haridaspur today with a delegation of BJP to meet the family of Smitarani.
"The SP himself had said that there were five people at the spot along with the deceased. One cannot commit suicide in the presence of five persons. A BJP delegation will meet Home Minister Amit Shah and demand a CBI inquiry into the matter," informed the LoP.
Likewise, a delegation of the State unit of Congress also called on the Odisha Human Rights Commission today seeking justice for the deceased. "A proper investigation should be done. We (Congress) oppose the SP's statements on Smitarani Biswal's character. All should know what actually happened at the guest house where Smitrani was found dead," demanded Congress leader, Smrutirekha Pahi.
Reacting to the opposition's allegations, BJD said that the matter is being politicised. "Political colour is being given to the incident. Why should we believe in CBI if they can't trust Odisha government and police?" said state government chief whip and senior BJD leader, Pramila Mallick.
