Jajpur: Amidst the ongoing blame game over false report regarding eviction of Rangashala guest house where Haridaspur lady Panchayat Extension Officer (PEO), Smitarani Biswal was found dead, Jajpur district Collector has placed revenue inspector of Aruha circle in Dharmasala tehsil, Khirabdhi Tanaya Panda under suspension for dereliction of duty.

A show-cause notice has also been served to additional tehsildar of Dharmasala, Sheetal Agrawal for submitting report regarding eviction of Rangashala guest house.

“The order passed by you in the encroachment case has been done without verifying field realities. Therefore, you are called upon to explain in writing within 24 hours as to why disciplinary action will not be initiated against you for such gross lapse, failing which action will be initiated as deemed proper,” read a letter issued by the Collector.

According to sources, the local tehsildar had ordered eviction of the guest house which was illegally constructed after encroaching upon government land. Eventually, on March 26, 2018 the concerned revenue inspector had submitted a report mentioning that the guest house has been evicted and requested the tehsildar to close the case. On the basis of the report, Dharmasala tehsildar had disposed the case on March 31, 2018.
