Koraput: Flowing through the tribal belt of Koraput district, Duduma waterfalls also known as "Matsya Tirtha" attract a large number of tourists every year but lack of safety measures near the spot has raised serious concerns.

“There are no safety fences in this place. It is very risky to visit this place with family members especially with children. Steps should be taken to ensure safety of people,” said a visitor Pratap Kumar Das.

“There are no accommodation, drinking water and food facilities here. Tourists from distant places face a lot of trouble," he added.

However, Lamtaput BDO (Block development officer) said that steps are being taken to address the issues on priority basis.

"A watch tower will be constructed and stairs will be repaired. Guard rail and platform will be constructed for safe sightseeing of tourists,” said Lamptaput BDO Soumya Sarthak Mishra.

Meanwhile, tourists from within and outside the State are visiting the spot where wide range of flora offers great experience of sightseeing.

“This scenic beauty of this place is mesmerising. A visit to this place gives a wonderful feeling,” said a tourist Ankita Pnada.

Another tourist from Kolkata, Nazira Ali, said, “This place is rich with natural beauty and everyone should come here to enjoy this natural paradise.”
