Bhubaneswar: Coming down heavily on Odisha government over the alleged mining scam, the new BJP state president KV Singhdeo on Wednesday warned Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of similar fate like Madhu Koda of Jharkhand.

“We have been saying repeatedly that Naveen Patnaik is directly involved in Sainik mining issue. When the Shah Commission report would come to light, Naveen will face the similar fate like Madhu Koda of Jharkhand”, Singhdeo addressed the party men   at the state BJP office here.

The new president of the saffron party also forecast a grim future of Naveen Patnaik led BJD. “I doubt whether Naveen Babu would lead the party or anyone else in 2014 election” Singhdeo said.

Countering the allegations, BJD leader and Parliamentary Affairs minister Kalpataru Das said that instead of referring to Madhu Koda, the BJP state president should have named B S Yeddyurappa.

Soon after landing at the city airport, Singhdeo received warm welcome from the party colleagues waiting anxiously for his arrival. Adressing media at the airport, KV ruled out possibility of alliance with BJD or Odisha Jana Morcha.

Admitting difference among leaders in BJP, he said "Difference of opinion does not mean that there is groupism in the state unit of the party."
