In view of these allegations, a petition was filed seeking NHRC’s intervention in the matter. Taking note of the complaint, the commission reportedly decided to seek explanations and reports from the concerned authorities.

The complaint also reportedly mentioned that three suicide cases had earlier been reported at the same institution, raising concerns over student safety and institutional accountability.

The NHRC’s intervention is seen as a significant step towards ensuring a fair probe into the incident and fixing responsibility, if any, in the student’s death.
