Khurda to have model police station soon
Bhubaneswar/ Khurda: In an attempt to make proper use of latest technology and infrastructure, Town Police Station in Khurda has been chosen to be developed into a Model Police Station, revealed IG (Law and Order) Amitabh Thakur today following instructions from DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma.
Sources said, in order to add new technological and infrastructural dimensions to the police station, Thakur today took stock of the existing facilities at the station.
Confirming the development, Thakur said, “I am here with the instructions of the DGP to check all the criteria that have been set for a Model Police Station”.
During his visit, a Herbal garden was also inaugurated by Thakur inside the Police Station premises in presence of Khurda SP Ranjan Rai and SDPO Jugol Kishore Das.
The move is a part under the initiative of introducing one model police station in every district.
According to sources, the model police station status would be given on 28 parameters such as infrastructure, skilled manpower, high rate of conviction, people-friendly approach, effective crime control and quality as well as expeditious investigations among others.
